The Welcoming Congregation Committee is taking intentional steps to enable UUFB to be more welcoming and inclusive of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, as well as other people who are disenfranchised or marginalized.
We have recently been recognized as a Welcoming Congregation by the UUA, and will continue to create a welcoming environment where those entering know they are safe to be who they are.
Our team is diverse in sexual and gender identities and is learning more about each other and how we can be role models for our congregation and the wider community.
We honor Transgender Day of Remembrance and National Coming Out day in our worship services. We continue to receive questions and comments from the congregation, and we offer films and discussion to answer the congregation’s quest for deeper understandings.
We are reaching out to our congregation and beyond to create a safe haven for LGBTQ people and their families and allies to break bread, share stories, or to simply be in peace.
We invite you to join us, engage us in conversation, feed your curiosity and be our allies on the path of Love.
