The area of responsibility is UUFB grounds, building exteriors, building interior and furnishings not under the purview of Hospitality Committee, Architecture, building, and construction Committee, Worship Committee, the Minister, UUFB musicians, or the Office Administrator.  Rental Management is a subcommittee of Facilities.

The goal of the committee is to promote the health, safety, sustainability, and curb appeal of UUFB’s facilities by inviting volunteer talent when possible, and hiring licensed professional contractors when required.  We use scent-free, dye-free, and sustainable cleaning and landscape maintenance products.  The distribution of keys is monitored by the committee. Insurance information is accessible through the Facilities committee; decisions about insurance are the purview of the UUFB Board.
Volunteer facilities maintenance events are scheduled quarterly, usually on Saturdays, and followed by a picnic for volunteers, whose time and talents are deeply appreciated.  Watch for announcements in the Sunday programs and weekly news email.
Volunteer opportunities include but aren’t limited to:

Yard debris pickup
Raking
Mowing
Foliage maintenance
Parking area maintenance and parking assistance for events
Signage maintenance
Paint touch-up
Detailed building refreshing not covered by a professional service contract
Light carpentry and remodeling
Research and education for improved facilities maintenance products
Picnic planning for Facilities volunteer events
Touch-ups for property rental events
Set-up and take-down for UUFB events and rental events
General assistance for UUFB events and rental events, including parking management
