All Families are Welcome to UUFB
Religious Education (RE) is offered on Sunday mornings at 10 AM at the same time as the adult service. You and your children are invited to join us. Our program is volunteer-run and staffed by adult members who truly enjoy interacting with children. The youngest among us (infants – preschool) are welcomed year-round into our preschool room in Fellowship Hall where they play and interact with volunteers for the entire adult service.
Religious education classes are offered most Sundays Labor Day to Memorial Day for elementary students. Children 5 years and older begin the service with their parents and are sung on their way to class after the “Story for All Ages”. Parents are always welcome to join. We have occasional intergenerational services during the year which are announced in advance.
During the summer months when adult services are shorter, children may stay in the service and enjoy activity packs at their seats with their parents or join volunteers in Fellowship Hall for supervised multi-aged play.
Our curriculum this year is “Moral Tales” from the Tapestry of Faith curriculum. (For more information about the class and Religious Education from our national association see http://www.uua.org/re/children.)
Our child safety policy requires that there be two adults in class with our children so adult volunteers are needed each Sunday to assist the teachers. It is a great way to meet the next generation. You have no preparation, just show and have fun. To volunteer or if you have questions please contact the Fellowship office firstname.lastname@example.org.
Middle and high school youth meet with the youth group at the UU Congregation of the Low Country in Bluffton, SC.
