To Be Continued: Returning

Lori Zooming (2) (2)

Hello Everyone!

I’m not *officially* back from sabbatical until September 1st, but I did want to quickly say “hi,” and let everyone know that I’m around and working on getting things ready for the beginning of the program year! I’ve made a few phone calls, and am having some small meetings toward that end as well.

I’ll be officiating at the memorial service for Bill Culp on September 3rd at 3:00 p.m., and then back in the pulpit on September 4th.

On September 4th, which is Labor Day weekend, I’m going to focus more on the labor that the congregation has been engaged in during the sabbatical time. Remember back in March, I said that even as I was leaving on a sabbatical journey, so too were all of you going to be on a journey during this time.

I’m thinking about that old (perhaps clichéd) back to school assignment: “What I Did On My Summer Vacation.” I’ll share just a little bit of my sabbatical journeys, and there will be opportunities for all of you to share as well. What kind of journeys have you taken? Actual journeys, such as trips or vacations? Emotional journeys? Vocational journeys – new jobs or beginning retirement? Spiritual journeys – how’s your spiritual practice going, if you have one? Other journeys? What have you discovered, about yourself, this faith community, or beyond?

Our annual Water Service/Ingathering will follow the next Sunday – September 11th – and I hope to see many of you there!

I’m excited to be returning to UUFB, and journeying with you again! We’re going to have a great year together!

    Blessings,
    Rev. Lori
