To Be Continued: Autumn

Dear Ones,

As we move into autumn it kind of feels like I’m being bombarded with ads featuring “pumpkin spice” everything. Pumpkin spice coffee. Pumpkin spice candies. Pumpkin spice scented candles. Pumpkin spice scented soaps and lotions. Pumpkin spice is everywhere!

I have a confession. I don’t like pumpkin. The obsession with pumpkin spice drives me just a little nuts every year.

However, I do enjoy this season of cooling temperatures and increased activity here at UUFB. Some of our members who spend the summer in cooler climes are returning – and the COVID numbers are beginning to decline. With any luck, we’ll be back to worshiping in person soon.

This is the last column for September, and I’m looking forward to October! Our worship theme is social justice, and we’ll begin with a service called “Paging Captain America.” I hope you’ll join us!

Happy Fall!

    Blessings,
        Rev. Lori Hlaban
