To Be Continued: Pride!

Dear Ones,

It is sincerely summer, now. The heat and humidity have moved in and many of our members are away for the season already. Unlike some of our sibling congregations we do not close down for the summer, though! We continue to provide worship services, many of them lay led.

Our efforts to get internet into the Sanctuary, along with streaming capability, continue. Several people are working on this, and we hope to have news on that, soon.

This coming Sunday our service will be in the Sanctuary, celebrating Pride! The following Sunday we’ll be viewing the Sunday worship service from the UUA General Assembly. Please stay tuned on that event! It’s unclear whether we will have a recording to show, or whether we will need to tune into a special livestream link. As soon as we know, we will get that information out to everyone.

Next week I will be in town while virtually attending both the UU Ministers Association Ministry Days and the UUA General Assembly. I’m thrilled that we will have two delegates at GA this year! I always learn so much at GA, it’s such a great time to network with folks from other congregations.

Finally, I will be out of town from June 28th through July 15th. Tom and I will be traveling by car to visit family members who we haven’t been able to visit for almost two years. We’re hoping to make time for some fun hikes and touring along the way, too. I’m confident that the Fabulous Worship Team™ will provide excellent worship, and the Care Team will be available if needed. When I return, I’ll be the worship host for a service featuring our own former mayor, Billy Keyserling, who will be with us on Sunday, July 25th. Save the date!

Be well, and stay safe everyone!

    Blessings,
        Rev. Lori Hlaban
