We did it – we had a successful auction in a socially responsible way and made our financial target. Not only did we have one successful auction but we had TWO – the mini and the annual for a total of over $10,400 when all is said and done. This will give the SEJ committee over $2,000 directly from the auction to use in 2021!
Thank you to all of the donors – both members and local business donors – and especially Evelyn Caldwell, Kathy Folsom and Pauline Mejia who continue to find businesses willing to contribute their services, items and gift cards to our auction. Please patronize the businesses, listed below, that continue to support us even in these trying times.
Of course we want to thank all the bidders, both members and the many of you who extended invitations to friends and family to participate. We had almost 20 non-members bid and win items in the catalog for about $2,400. Nearly 25% of the auctions’ success came from non-members.
We learned a lot about the technology and the logistics of holding an online auction. However much of what has been learned will also be applicable to a hybrid auction of mobile bidding and in-person live auction that we hope to have next Fall.
Last of all I want to thank the Auction Committee – Jeanine Darville, Jim Miller, Kathy Folsom, and Jennifer Rhodes – who have all helped make this new way of fundraising a great success – Thank You All!
