As we hurtle toward the end of the campaign season, in this last week before Election Day, I hope each and every one of you has either voted already or has a firm plan for how and when you will vote. Never before has an election mattered so much to so many.
It’s also time to have some hard conversations with your partners, children, and loved ones about the upcoming holiday season.
Here in Beaufort County we’ve flattened the curve of COVID infection for the moment, thanks to local mask-wearing requirements. A cursory check of the data from the CDC, COVIDActNow, or the COVID tracking database at Johns Hopkins University, shows our nation as a whole in a third wave of new cases.
Many of us traditionally travel – or have out of town guests – for the holidays. In these times there may be an even greater desire to gather family together around the table for Thanksgiving – or for an extended period of time over the Christmas/New Year holiday week.
If you decide to travel, or to host out of town guests here, do have the conversation with them about quarantine before and after and testing. Be mindful of conditions here and wherever you may be going – or where your guests are – and take good care. We want all of us to make it to 2021 in good health!
Thank you for being here, for being part of this Fellowship, and for staying connected! I love you. We will get through this. Keep breathing and stay safe, everyone.
