To Be Continued: Back From Study Leave

Dear Ones,

I have returned! Well, I never really left Beaufort in July… but I traveled in my mind!

I am happy to be back, and grateful to have had a month to relax a bit, read a lot, think, and do some planning for the 2020-2021 program year. I hope you have also been able to rest and relax, and do what feeds your spirit, whether that’s reading, or writing, or playing an instrument or game, or creating something from fabric or wood.

I want to thank – and offer kudos – to the Fabulous Worship Team™, which put together a terrific series of worship services. Five Sundays in a row of meaty and meaningful work. Thank you, Team! Thank you also to Pauline and Julia and the great Caring Committee, for being available and responsive to our members in need. Finally, thank you to Nick, our Administrator, for being the steady presence at the office weekly.

Next week I’ll let you know about a few new opportunities for connection as we continue to meet virtually for worship and otherwise. There are possibilities for book groups, Soul Matters small groups, drop in writing group, and maybe more!

For now… I’m thinking ahead to our water service on Sunday, Sept. 13th. Let’s do a water meditation, like the flower meditation we did for the flower service. Find some photos you’ve taken of water – and/or photos of you with, in, or by water. Think about what water means to you, how your experiences with water soothes or fills your spirit. Send me your water photos, and your thoughts. And stay tuned for more ways to help create our water meditation!

Thank you for being here, for being part of this Fellowship, and for staying connected! I love you. You are beloved and precious. We will get through this. Keep breathing and stay safe, everyone.

Blessings,
Rev. Lori Hlaban
